Inside the Church

As we enter this massive room we notice the Holy Water fonts near the door. By baptism, we enter the life of the Church, and the ministry of Christ himself. To the left, there is a statue venerating the Blessed Virgin Mary and to the right Saint Joseph her husband.

Numerous pews make room for the faithful, and welcomed visitors. As we move toward the Sanctuary, the Angel mural is visible, reminding us of the Nativity theme. The Altar is center and prominent in the Sanctuary. Lecterns flank the altar on both sides.

The focus of this liturgical environment is Christ. It is Christ himself who speaks to us in the scriptures. It is Christ himself, present in the prayers of the assembly of the faithful. The Homilies remember Christ and show how He and the Church are still relevant today. The angels appear to be focused upon the Eucharist, the Body of Christ. The crucifix reminds us of Christ on the cross, securing salvation for the faithful.

His ordained minister stands in persona Christi and ascends to the altar and Calvary. Through this powerful remembering, we transend time and we are there, at the cross keeling with The Blessed Mother, Mary, and John. His ordained minister calls the Berekah and by the Holy Spirit, the bread and wine are transformed into the Body and Blood of Christ. Upon reception, the Church is transformed to the body (the work) and the blood (the life) of Christ.

The old song asked "were you there when they crucified our Lord?" Oh yes, we are there each Mass!
