First Communion

Many Catholics baptized at shortly after birth may not remember their baptism, but all Catholics remember their First Communion. A Holy time celebrated by not only the communicant, but their families, and their Church.

For adults who come into the Church through RCIA, traditionally they celebrate their First Communion at the Easter Vigil with the newly baptized.

Children prepare for months of rigorous education about not only the Church, but our beliefs about the eucharist. A First Communion Sunday is declared a few weeks after Easter for them. Those children make their First Communion with their class. The children are usually in the second grade in school.
