The Angels In keeping with the Nativity identity, a mural of two angels are depicted at the back of the Sanctuary. After the remodeling necessary after the Second Vatican Council, the painting of these two angels were commissioned by artists from the Monks of St. Meinrad Benedictine Archabbey. The Angels are consistent with the Lukan Nativity narrative. In Luke 2, the angels appeared to the shepherds. They explained their presence then a multitude of the heavenly host appeared praising God, Glory to God in the Highest, and Peace to all People of Good Will. The Angels are visually positioned to such a way that from the pews it appears that the Angels attention is focused on the altar. |
